Name a star for Christmas
Last updated 31 October 2026
From £9.99 — emailed in minutes, or printed and posted free Name a Star
Some Christmas gifts are opened, enjoyed, and quietly forgotten by Easter. A star isn't. Name a real, catalogued star for someone this Christmas and it's theirs in the register for good — a real star in a constellation they can find on any clear December night, long after the batteries in everything else have run out.
Under the tree: the Physical Gift Pack — £19.99
For something to unwrap, the Physical Gift Pack arrives as five beautifully printed documents, posted free in the UK: their personalised name certificate, a personalised welcome letter, a coordinates sheet with a sky chart marking their star, the mythology of their constellation, and a sealed extract from the register. Posted flat in an A4 envelope, grand enough for centre stage under the tree — and everything digital is included too.
Christmas morning, 7am, nothing bought: the Digital Gift Pack — £9.99
The Digital Gift Pack is our instant digital star naming: allocated and delivered within minutes of ordering, any hour, any day — including Christmas morning in your dressing gown. Send it as a beautiful e-gift reveal by WhatsApp, email or text: they tap, the sky opens, and their star is unveiled with your message. Print the certificate at home and slip it in a card, or let the reveal be the moment itself.
Two stars side by side: the Twin Star Gift Pack — £29.99
For brothers and sisters, twins, grandparents or best friends, the Twin Star Gift Pack names two neighbouring stars in the same constellation together on one landscape certificate. Seven documents — the certificate, a welcome letter, a coordinates sheet and register extract for each star, and the constellation story — printed on fine cream stock and posted free in one pack.

Who to name a Christmas star for
- Someone who has everything — they don't have this. Nobody does, until it's theirs.
- Grandparents — a star named for them by the grandchildren, with the certificate framed, is the kind of gift that gets kept.
- A first Christmas — new babies, new marriages, new homes: a star marks the year it all began.
- An empty chair — for a family missing someone, a memorial star gives the night sky their name. Quietly, this is the gift we're proudest of.
Honest, even at Christmas
We tell you the truth, even at Christmas: star naming is symbolic. Only the International Astronomical Union assigns official star names, and it doesn't sell them — to us or anyone. What we promise is real: a genuine catalogued star, dedicated in a register anyone can check. Here's exactly how it works — worth a read before you buy from anyone, including us.
Common questions
Will it arrive in time for Christmas?
The Digital Gift Pack has no deadline at all — it is ready within minutes of checkout, including on Christmas Eve and on Christmas morning itself. Yes, if you order the Physical Gift Pack or the Twin Star Gift Pack by Friday 18 December: we post within 24 hours, so it goes out ahead of Royal Mail's recommended last posting date for Christmas.
How do I give a star on the day?
Three ways, and people use all of them. Print the certificate at home and wrap it. Hand over the Physical Gift Pack if you ordered it. Or send the e-gift reveal link by WhatsApp, email or text on the morning — useful when you are apart, or when the present arrived as a last-minute thought.
Is it a good gift for someone who has everything?
It is the one present they almost certainly do not have. And it cannot be duplicated: each star in our register can only be named once.
Can I name stars for several people at once?
Yes. Multiple stars cost simple multiples, and the order form handles up to ten in one go — useful for naming one for each grandchild, or for a whole family at Christmas.
What if I spell their name wrong on Christmas Eve?
On the Digital Gift Pack, tell us and we will correct it at no charge — you can reprint at home, free, for life, so a corrected certificate costs nothing. On a printed pack, a name typed wrongly isn't reprinted free, so please check the spelling before you order.
Is this an official star name?
No, and no company can truthfully sell you one. Only the International Astronomical Union assigns official star designations, and it does not sell naming rights. What is real: a genuine catalogued star with its coordinates, dedicated in our register, publicly verifiable by registry number.
